Watch out for
- No Wi-Fi: firmware and camera database updates run through Uniden's R/TACH Tool on a computer; the R8w adds Wi-Fi updates
- The March 2024 owner's manual predates the R/TACH app and does not cover Bluetooth pairing
- Sold out on uniden.com, which points buyers to the R8w
